The fact of the matter is, Windows still holds approximately 88.78% of the operating system market. Despite this fact, the preferred operating system for home computers is still Windows. However, mobile devices have flooded the mainstream and unbelievably, Android has surpassed Windows as the leading operating system in the world. Microsoft Windows revolutionized home computing, and since the 1990s has held a dominant position in the operating system market.
